Special Operations Division
The Special Operation Division prosecutors and investigators handle complex criminal and civil cases. These sensitive cases require a thorough and often lengthy investigation to ensure that justice is served. The Division prosecutors conduct complete and independent investigations in conjunction with the warrant review process by each of the specialized subunits.
UNITS
Community Prosecutions Unit
Wayne County Community Prosecutors are experienced Assistant Prosecutors assigned to posts within the community. Community Prosecutors assist the police and work with citizens to address issues of community justice.
Asset Forfeiture Unit
Specialized unit that works to seize anything used or intended to be used to facilitate illegal activities, including: illegal drug trafficking, illegal gambling operations, drunk driving, environmental polluters, buildings used in violation of nuisance abatement laws and vehicles used in connection with prostitution.
Vehicle Seizure Unit
The Vehicle Seizure Unit operates a program designed to discourage the use of vehicles for either the purchase of controlled substances, known as the PUSH-OFF program, or to solicit prostitutes, known as the OTE program.
Mortgage & Deed Fraud Unit
To investigate suspected deed and mortgage fraud.
Public Integrity Unit
This unit reviews allegation of misconduct, corruption or other criminal activity where the suspect is a police officer or public official. All allegation of this type occurring in Wayne County are referred to this unit.
