Dear Residents and Guests,
In these economic times, your Wayne County Parks offer some of the best bargains in the county. Most of the special events in the Wayne County Parks are free or have a minimal charge. There are no entry fees to Wayne County Parks and they are open year round. The Chandler Park Family Aquatic Center is one of the most economical water parks in the state!
There are some wonderful new attractions that are coming to Wayne County Parks this spring and summer:
• Canoe rentals at Newburgh Lake in Livonia
• Segway rentals at Nankin Mills (next to the administrative building)
• Kayak rentals at Elizabeth Park in Trenton
In addition, there is a new shelter in the dog park, a new restroom facility at Sumac Point and a picnic shelter at Nankin Mills Park.
Did you know that our naturalists offer nature and history programs year round for schools, scouts, homeschoolers and families? By adding a monthly calendar to the brochure this year, we hope that you will find programs for everyone in your family.
Remember, Parks and Recreation does more than provide programs and activities in the Park. We offer “a lifetime of memories” for you and your family.
Wayne County Parks is proud to be part of these lasting memories and we look forward to offering more opportunities for Wayne County residents to live longer, healthier lives in our beautiful community.
Sincerely,
Robert A. Ficano
Wayne County Executive
